Our century old house place is a hidden gem, tucked away in the hills in the center of Viña del Mar.  From the comfort of the den to the lively roof top terrace, there is a place for everyone to feel right at home. Come to Urban House for a vacation or a get-away weekend. Here you will meet new friends and discover an experience unlike any other in Viña del Mar.

We have created a warm family environment intended for open-minded people with solid values and good vibes, who want to share their past experiences and live enjoyable new ones with others from different parts of the world.  We want our guests to experience all the best this great city and country have to offer: culture, people, cuisine, sightseeing, and new friend who may become “brothers” and “sisters”.

Our founder

Hi! I am Francisco, a Chilean Industrial Civil Engineer from University of Chile. During the last couple of years of my studies, I volunteered in a home for children at social risk with various national and international students. This role led me to manage the unit of "Volunteers without Borders" which motivated exchange students to work with us in social projects.

Our neighborhood

Our house is located in the heart of Viña del Mar, 15-minutes from Valparaiso´s downtown, a short walking distance to Metro station “Miramar” and Caleta Abarca beach. It is surrounded by great bars and restaurants, the well-known Enjoy Casino, lashes green areas and abundant coastline, as well as many well-known places of interest and heritage sites.

Known primarily as a vacation destination, Viña shares spectacular beaches and a coast lined with shops and restaurants.  The Enjoy Casino is about a 7 minute walk from the Hostel and you can also find a lot of exciting nightlife on San Martin Avenue or Valparaiso Street. Here you can contains everything from shopping, to dining, to pubs and dance clubs. Only a few blocks away there is also the beautiful recreational park, La Quinta Vergara, where concerts are often held, such as the famous "Festival Viña del Mar". Staying at Urban House grants you access to all these wonders within walking distance. Additionally, there is 24 hour locomotion close-by, with bus and taxi routes, as well as the region's metro-line with service from the port of Valparaiso to the interior. Parking is available in and around the hostel and the city bus terminal is just up the road

After this wonderful experience, I decided to live and study for a year in California, USA, where I shared an apartment with people from all over the World. Upon returning to Chile, I had the idea in my head of expanding this amazing experience in my own country. That's why, over 10 years ago, I bought an apartment in Vitacura that I have shared with people from many countries of The Americas & Europe. This has impacted my life in the most positive way. Respect, generosity and tolerance are some of the values I have lived by throughout the years.

Moments of joy, excitement and love have been numerous over the years with my new "brothers and sisters". So was born “Casa Mondo”… a magical place to share experiences, meet amazing people, create fond memories, and build life-long bonds.
